Transportation

We will provide bus transportation while seats are available for volunteers who meet at the starting location, 4203 Vineland Rd, K-3 Orlando FL, 32811, by 8:30 a.m. on May 17th. You are also welcome to follow the bus in your private vehicle.

Waivers and Safety

Before beginning the tasks at the cemeteries, we will conduct a safety briefing. We will also provide each individual and team lead with waivers to sign regarding transportation and potential hazards associated with traversing cemeteries, such as bugs, heat, rocks, exposed graves, and fallen branches or trees. We recommend that volunteers bring sun protection hats.

How We Will Honor

Once we arrive at the cemeteries, we will break into pairs and walk through the cemetery searching for veteran graves. We will place a flag and salute the deceased veteran. We welcome any other acts of honor.

Refreshments and Hydration

The day will begin with a hot continental breakfast at Honorable Legacy HQ from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Throughout the day, we will provide volunteers with fresh fruits, electrolyte drinks, and water. The day will conclude with an early dinner/late lunch served at the VFW post 5405.
