Christmas Gifts for Grieving Children

The holidays heighten feelings of sadness and loneliness for children of dead parents.

You can make gifts one less thing bereaved families have to worry about.

Orphans During the Holidays

Holidays are a time for joy and togetherness; however, the reality is different for grieving children.

Grieving children see their friends happy, festive, creating Christmas lists, spending time with their loved ones, and receiving extra attention and love from their friends and family.

The surviving family members of grieving children are often too overcome to continue holiday traditions, leaving children alone, confused, and unable to understand why no one cares about the holidays. Did Christmas die with mom or dad?

Christine, shared with the Widows group how the Christmas after her husband died, she could not find the strength to take over her husband’s role as Santa.

Her three children could not understand why Santa deserted them in the same year their father died….

We are reminded that giving children a slight sense of normalcy during the Holidays is another form of Love and Bereavement Support.

Gifts From Honorable Legacy

Grief is most agonizing during the holidays.

While we cannot take away children’s grief, we can honor them with a simple yet meaningful tradition of Christmas gifts.

Honorable Legacy is partnering with Funeral Homes and Child Grief counselors to deliver Christmas to children that lost one or both parents in 2022, 2023, and 2024.

The orphaned and  partially orphaned child gets to create a Wishlist of three gifts; every registered child receives a thoughtful, age appropriate, and customized gift just as if mom and dad were alive.

Do you know a child whose parent died in 2022, 2023, or 2024? Register them today!

Let’s ensure that Christmas does not die when a parent dies.

Give to the Christmas For Orphans fund to make the season brighter for orphaned and partially orphaned children.

Do you know of a child whose parent died?
